Terms of use

These terms govern the Mercato Commerce informational website and shared iOS client. Purchases are made with the independent merchant whose store you connect.

The service

Mercato Commerce lets you discover and connect a compatible Mercato store, browse merchant content and use the commerce functions that merchant makes available. The embedded Modenza demo is local and illustrative: it does not create a real account, charge a payment method, send email, invoke a production webhook or order delivery.

Independent merchants

Each connected store is an independent merchant. Its identity, products, prices, tax, delivery, availability, policies, support, payment methods and order obligations come from that merchant’s server. Mercato Commerce does not silently substitute client-calculated totals for the merchant’s authoritative checkout.

A merchant’s sale, return, warranty, delivery and privacy terms apply to transactions with that merchant. Review them before placing an order.

Accounts and device access

You are responsible for information submitted through the app and for maintaining control of your device and merchant credentials. Do not share signed order links or authentication tokens. If you lose access to a device or suspect unauthorized use, contact the relevant merchant and follow the guidance on the Support page.

Orders and payments

An order is not final merely because a payment interface closes. The connected merchant’s authoritative order and payment state governs acceptance. Payment providers, banks and merchants may reject, delay, reverse or require additional authentication for a payment. Digital goods remain unavailable unless a merchant and application distribution have an App Store-compliant purchase model.

Acceptable use

Do not probe, disrupt or bypass store authentication, payment, inventory, geographic, age, entitlement or rate-limit controls; submit false transaction information; interfere with another customer’s data; or use the service unlawfully. Security research must follow the coordinated disclosure guidance.

Availability and changes

A merchant may change or discontinue its catalog or compatibility. Network services, payment providers and platform features may be unavailable. The shared app and website may evolve, and these terms may be updated with a revised effective date.

Intellectual property

Merchant names, product media and content belong to their respective owners. Mercato software and documentation are subject to the licenses published with their source repositories. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses.

Warranty and liability

The website and shared client are provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Transaction claims concerning goods or merchant services should be directed to the merchant that accepted the order.

Contact

Use the connected store’s support details for transaction matters. For the shared client, documentation or this website, use the project channel on the Support page.
