Delete an account

Customer accounts belong to individual connected merchants. Mercato provides an in-app deletion flow when that merchant supports account creation.

Request deletion in the app

  1. Open Mercato Commerce and connect to the relevant store.
  2. Sign in to the customer account you want to delete.
  3. Open Account → Settings → Privacy.
  4. Select Delete account, review the consequences and confirm the request.
  5. Keep any confirmation or merchant reference shown by the app.

What the request covers

On successful deletion, the app attempts notification revocation, erases that store’s local account namespace and returns it to a clean anonymous state. The merchant controls deletion of server-side profile data.

Records required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security or dispute obligations may be retained or anonymized under the merchant’s published policy and applicable law. Deletion from one merchant does not delete accounts held by another connected merchant.

If the control is unavailable

The store may not support native customer accounts or the user may not be signed in. Use Settings → Privacy → Store privacy documents or the merchant support details shown in the app to submit a request directly. Include the account email, but never send a password, bearer token or payment credential.

Embedded demo account

The Modenza demo is completely local. It does not create an external customer record or send email. Removing the demo store clears its isolated local state from the device.

Exiting a store and deleting an account are different actions. “Exit store” preserves local state for a later return; account deletion and “Remove store and local data” are destructive controls.
